Interview With...

Bob Olson: What label or description do you give yourself when a stranger asks what you do for work? 

Laura Scott: I tell them I help people...LOL, (I used to say I was a phone sex operator, but that only led to far more complicated questions lol). I am a professional psychic, author, healer and channel. I specialize in giving insight, guidance, and empowerment. My job is to inspire others to know their highest truths and to
remember, even if only in glimpses, the Truth about who they are and why they came here.

I was born under the Mayan astrological sign of the Cib (keeb). Those born with this birth print have highly attuned intuition and serve as galactic conduits for Divine communication from Spirit. Cibs excel in giving enlightened advice, and in making good judgments for others. Somehow I don't think the folks at the Internal Revenue Service would be enthused or understanding about seeing "Galactic Conduit"  listed as a profession!

I see inside a situation, and offer new perspective on why things are the way they are and what shifts need to happen to facilitate change and growth.

Bob Olson: When did you first recognize that you had this gift?

Laura Scott: When I was very young, I was seeing, hearing, feeling, and knowing things that those around me were not.  But being psychic and empathic in a family of younger souls was pretty confusing; it caused a lot of turmoil for me as a child...my God-given abilities of 'knowing too much' made the adults in my life pretty uncomfortable. I learned to keep much of what I knew close to myself.

I became "broken open" as a result of traumatic events in my twenties: First, I fell 1,000% head over heels in love and got married. This was a big catalyst to a whole new wave of 'knowing', AND for the first time in my life I felt safe and encouraged to be myself.  Also during this time, I went through a number of life altering events-- 2 car accidents, a brush with cancer, and more. Then, as I turned 30 my beloved husband had a breakdown, and overnight my world was turned upside down and everything changed.

As I made my way through that dark time, grieving, I struggled to reconcile what I knew psychically with the earthly reality thrust upon me.  For a while I was in shock--mad at God; but I couldn't maintain it for long.  A deep and profound spiritual awakening began taking place inside of me.  I had to navigate through my own painful soul lessons of grief, free will, heartache and loss...miraculously...I found myself beginning to fill with a sense of peace, and calm.  I had an unshakable knowing that out of this situation...something important and good would come.

And it did. I began to understand my soul's purpose, and my responsibility to be available to it.  With time, my grieving and loss got replaced by something much bigger.  I met The Committee--a group of Higher Ascended Beings on the Other Side who work in service of God--and realized I was beginning the next phase of my journey. One that would take me to un-thought of places, and on yet to be imagined adventures. I would travel it with Them as a partnership.

In retrospect, coming out of grief was like slowly waking up from a dream.  As the veil lifted, my gifts became so undeniable that I got myself out of the way, and 'came out.' Ironically, none of my friends were surprised...they said they had been pumping me for information for years, and...what took me so long?! It seems they could see the Universe calling me to step out into the limelight long before I could... All my life, people would naturally gravitate towards me, and look to me for help, leadership and insight. Now I understand why.

Bob Olson: When did you begin doing this work professionally?
 
Laura Scott: Over 15 years ago.

Bob Olson: Have you had any formal training or instruction for this work?
 
Laura Scott: Mostly, I am blessed to be "a natural."

I am also quite an old soul. Over the years, I've known various practicing psychics and light workers from around the world, some of whom became friends, teachers and mentors along the way, and others who inadvertently taught by poor example.  They are all part of the tapestry that is me...out of every experience, be it positive or negative, I learned more about how to be myself.

I respect that others in this profession may need to study prodigiously, equally as much as I respect that for those like myself, knowing is knowing. period.

Bob Olson: What other educational degrees, certifications or learned skills do you have that help you in this work?

Laura Scott: The School of Life as an active, ongoing 24/7 education...each day I am learning more about my own journey, and the journey of others.  The day I stop learning is the day I go Home.

I am highly studied and skilled in the empowerment areas... meditation, affirmations, intuition, energy healing, Lessons of Earth School, Universal Laws, and more. I also volunteer with souls in trouble, do private readings and channeling, webinars, podcasts, private and public events.

For those that need some letters, I have a BFA, am certified in Health Intuition, Bac  Flower Counseling, and an experienced Reiki Master/Teacher.

I am the expert author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Divining the Future, have an award winning meditation CD, along with several other mediation CD's, divination cards and professional journal products I created.

In addition to readings, I also offer Distance Clearing & Energy Healing work, Life Mentoring, Bach Flower consultations, clearing sprays, and teach Reiki.

Bob Olson: What is your intention or motivation for doing this work?

Laura Scott: To help others...helping someone be empowered is a beautiful thing! That is what this time of Ascension is all about! As an old soul and master healer, I assist people on the next steps in their natural journey...whether that's about helping a client understand how to let go, or to see inside a situation to form a better choice, or aiding them to shift into peace...it varies. Once you have had enough confirmation from the Other Side that life is a continuum, the next step of Ascension is to start approaching your daily life with a deeper understanding, awareness and insights.  I love assisting and inspiring others with this!

Bob Olson: What do you find most fulfilling about this work that you do?

Laura Scott: Knowing that people trust me with their big and small questions in life, and that they can count on me and my office to treat them with respect, understanding, and without judgment. Hearing from those who's lives I've touched is rewarding...it's an honor to help folks gain peace and progress. The sound of expanding consciousness is like no other! 

Bob Olson: How long do your readings last and why did you choose this length of time?

Laura Scott: 30 or 60 minutes typically.......but longer or shorter as needed. People have time sensitive matters these days and want to get help faster and for shorter lengths of time. My office understands this and makes the process very easy. We are here when you need us and happy to help however we can.

Bob Olson: What can one expect during a normal reading with you?

Laura Scott: Clients can expect professionalism, privacy and great customer service from our office. They can pay online at my website or call our office directly....my assistant does a wonderful job helping folks get their appointment set up swiftly and easily. We minimize wait times whenever possible. Client sessions take place by phone appointment and are recorded using state of the art technology, then emailed.

I'm a skilled, talented professional with over 15 years and thousands of client readings from around the world... I am also a very old soul and on my last earthly journey here. My next work will be as a Master on The Other Side. 

Clients read their prepared questions to me and I address them. They can ask about anything or anyone... health issues, relationships, investments, choices,...or the esoteric...whatever is on their mind...it runs a big spectrum...and is always treated with the utmost respect and confidentiality.

A question about one area may lead to new insight and understanding about why they have chosen the situation they did, their role or life themes playing out, past lives they've had dealing with this previously, and what they are working on in a broader sense now during Ascension to learn more about themselves.  Tips on how to improve or navigate a situation will come through.

Because I am a channel, readings are like dreams to me.  Although I sound "conversational"... I am actually quite altered and will have little memory of what just took place.  I am listening to my client, our guides, and The Committee, and even loved ones and Angels...then relaying the information. If The Committee wants to interact directly, my voice and consciousness alter further. Channeling requires a lot of mutual trust and cooperation...and it's my job to allow information through cohesively.

The Committee always comes through with much love, respect and understanding.  They are neither solely male or female in nature.  In person, you would see my face twitching or me rocking back and forth during deeper trance channel work.  None of this hurts or effects me, it is merely how the channel stays open.  They will often answer a question by posing a larger question back.  Sometimes They will not answer a question as asked until you restate it clarifying what it is you really want to know.  Many feel a strong powerful presence when The Committee appears, and often feel deeply moved by this.

Clients get answers, tools and homework suggestions ranging from channeled affirmations, to bodily advice, to humor and more. It runs the gamut. This is why recordings are so important...by the end of a session, clients may feel "lit up like a Christmas tree" and they can return to that healing place anytime by listening to my voice on their recording. Having an mp3 of your session is a tool to reach for over and over again, and each time you play it, you may glean something more!

We may laugh, or cry together in a phone session....and I will pull off as much stress as I possibly can so that you leave ready for the next steps of your journey.

Bob Olson: Who comes to you for readings?

Laura Scott: My client base spans from known political figures to professional athletes, entertainment figures, CEO's, doctors, lawyers, other metaphysical practitioners, college students, grandparents, 'regular folks' just like yourself and your next door neighbors! Each one of my clients receives the same dedication and care...along with confidentiality.

Bob Olson: How is a reading with you "similar" to what people see on TV when John Edward gives a reading on his show "Crossing Over With John Edward?"

Laura Scott: Loved ones you know may touch in closely or observe during your session. Loved ones will often relay the ways in which they are trying to connect, and quip in with comments, phrases etc.

Laura Scott: My work is a few steps beyond confirmation of the afterlife. Relatives or loved ones may come through, but this is rarely the sole point of our sessions.  Along with my guides & yours, loved ones, and angels, I channel a group called The Committee. The Committee is a group of Higher Ascended Beings on the Other Side who work in service of God. They come together from beyond the Pleiades to offer insight and understanding for our soul growth. They are very interested in supporting folks through this time of Ascension.

I tend to get full amounts of information, more like the whole story or several chapters in a story, versus disassociated fragments of words, sentences or imagery. If it is relevant, there may also be extensive past life information shared, health information, as well as suggestions for 'homework' to help keep a person moving with more balance.  I also have the ability to see ways that will improve a client's emotional or soul situation at a glance. I work more deeper into the patterns, often covering energy of a client's present, past and future experiences. I connect the dots and weave things together.

Bob Olson: What instructions do you give new clients before a reading?

Laura Scott: My office does a good job helping clients prepare. Make a list of specific questions that you would like assistance with. Feel free to prioritize it. Ask anything...from health to relationship issues, philosophical questions, work matters, investment opportunities, meeting your guides, any current situations you seeking clarity on in your life. If you ask simply, "how am I doing?" or "what do you see" without fail the guides will answer "fine," or ask you "about what specifically." They provide answers based on your willingness to form specific questions.

If it is meant for you to know, you will know. If not, you will usually get other pertinent soul instruction.

Understand that you are an integral part of this sacred process, and if you approach your session with an open heart and mind things will go smoothly. Readings take place over the phone (and sometimes via email) for clientele who live all over the US and far beyond

Bob Olson: Is there anything about your gift or abilities that is unique from most other psychics or psychic mediums?  

Laura Scott: My work is quite unique because I am a channel working directly with a group of Ascended Masters, called The Committee. They come, along with your guides and mine, to assist you on your life journey.  Although I am a published author, and creator of several cds, card deck and journaling tools....I do not use props or tools like cards, astrology, etc., when I work.

I focus beyond the immediate and when possible, intertwine it into a bigger picture for you. I'll look down the forks in the road for you and break down the pros and cons of upcoming choices. My readings tend to be more like a full story. Although no two readings are ever alike, there is typically a beginning, a middle, and an end.

If it is relevant, there may also be extensive past life information shared, health scan information, as well as suggestions for 'homework' to help keep a person moving forward with more confidence. I pull off as much stress and balance as much energetically as I can during readings, typically leaving clients feeling more
uplifted, and ready for what is coming ahead.

Bob Olson: If you do events, seminars, workshops, lectures or retreats, tell us about them. What are they like, how often do you do them and how do people benefit from attending them?

Laura Scott: I teach, speak and make radio appearances on topics that help the soul. Things like:  Ascension, Attraction, Affirmations, Universal Laws, Meditation, Manifesting, Energy Shifts, Healing and more. Participants get an up close look at my insight, humor and candor as I teach, and empower.  Often they remark on how down-to-earth I am, and my warm sense of humor.

I've done a lot of private events in recent years, tailoring events to specific groups. We also have webinars, podcasts and free meditations on my website.

Channeling takes a different amount of life energy than intuitiveness, mediumship or psychic abilities...and similar to how Edgar Cayce was told to balance out his workload, so too have I. Therefore I am forced to pace myself!

Laura Scott: I do phone readings predominantly, along with email readings, and do in person work at private events or prearranged weekends.

Bob Olson:  Is it true you spent over a decade swimming with dolphins in the wild, and taking clients on retreats?

Laura Scott:  Guilty as charged! I would spent a few months each year in the Bahamas enjoying the high energy places Edgar Cayce channeled about off Bimini... enjoying the wild free dolphins, sting rays, sea turtles and more. When it's time to return there again, we will announce it on my website and in my e-letter.

Bob Olson: Is there anything you would like people to know about you or your gift that we have not yet discussed?

Laura Scott: People ask me why I call myself a channel for healing.  After all, it does sound just a tad ostentatious.  Well, first and foremost, because this is what my own guides and The Committee regularly refer to me as.  Secondly because over and over again I was told this by many people, psychics, psychic mediums and channels who through varying degrees of "Serendipity" would wind their way across my path as I was unfolding.

At first I felt awfully uncomfortable owning this moniker.  I thought, "who am I to say  can heal anything?" Believe me, I asked myself over and over. But just when I would talk myself out of ever even considering it, another person would reach out to thank me for my presence in their life, or for my insightful words.  It began to get ridiculous...remember I told you that everyone knew it but me before I 'came out'?
I still laugh about this and shake my head.

Finally, it became clear: I am not saying that I can heal anything. Only God and the individual involved have the inside track on that.  What I am saying is that I allow myself to work as a conduit, or a catalyst for healing to occur. I've learned that healing is so much more than my own limited, initial, earthly, assumptions.  Healing is another Universal Word for progress.  It is not capable of being quantified by earthly gadgets or measuring systems.  It is about letting in flickering bits of realizations and Truths that move you to new levels both here, and beyond.  This is how the Universe defines healing--as a form of progress. Healing of the soul involves balancing and integrating the mind, body and spirit.  And this is what I show up for every day: to help teach, inspire, and encourage people to do it.
